This Defence Grant Writing Masterclass is the first in the City of Cockburn’s Defence Readiness Workshop Series of five essential workshops, which is running throughout 2025. This series is specifically designed to help local businesses enter the defence supply chain.
Why attend the workshop?
The opportunity for local small businesses to become defence industry suppliers is huge.
Cockburn is home to a $15 billion marine infrastructure cluster including major players like Austal, BAE Systems, Civmec and Luerssen Australia. Henderson’s Australian Marine Complex is one of only two naval shipbuilding locations in Australia and WA set to receive a significant share of an $11 billion defence shipbuilding investment.

This workshop is ideal for small-business owners looking to enter the defence industry or expand their defence industry opportunities.
About the presenter
The workshop series is funded by the City of Cockburn and delivered by Rachel Falzon, the Director of Novel Management Defence Consultancy, who has 15 years’ defence industry experience and specialises in helping businesses enter the defence industry supply chain.
