The Surrealist Salon suspends itself high above the city from Jan 18 to Feb 17, running from 10pm til 5am, offering nightly soiree's atop the Metro City rooftop bar during DALI LAND. 

"The rooftop where time stops" will showcase wonders unlike anything ever witnessed on this plane of existence. Set your imagination on fire with sights and sounds designed to melt the mind and accommodate your desires as we program a nightly surrealist feast for the eyes and ears, including; Live music, magic, burlesque, comedy and more.

Odette Mercy & Her Soul Atomics

Super tight, dynamic and with a reputation for one of the best live shows in WA, 6-piece soul act Odette Mercy & Her Soul Atomics are like a gritted up old Stax record come to life. OM&hSA have been no stranger to life's lessons and heartbreak. Entwined with a pervasive thread of social commentary, their experiences and reflections form the foundation for their writing; songs which are brutally honest, but tell a personal story of love and life through soul-filled heavy groove.

Odette Mercy and her Soul Atomics have a list of nominations under their belt. From WAM (West Australian Music) awards in the Urban Music category in 2018/2017/2016/2015/2014/2013/2011 to their recent national nomination in NLMA (National Live Music Award) for Best RnB/ Soul Act 2017/2016, and then to 'Ofa's nomination in the state rounds for Best Live Voice. More recently winner of WAM 2018 Best Vocalist and Odette Mercy & Her Soul Atomics taking out Best Urban Act.

Odette Mercy & her Soul Atomics is the original music project of Johnny Nandez and Odette Mercy. Booking their very first gig in 2008 (a month-long weekly residency) without a single song written, resulted in a 6-piece soul ensemble complete with guitar, rhythm section, horns and two sets worth of original songs. It was a long-time ambition for Nandez and the first foray into fronting an original band for Mercy. Creative partnerships come with many challenges and in their 9 years together, Of Tongan heritage, Australian born 'Ofa Fotu is an incredible soul singer, storyteller and visual artist. Best known as a collaborator and ensemble member of Hot Brown Honey and as frontwoman of funk/soul band Odette Mercy and Her Soul Atomics as Odette instantly captivates audiences with her remarkable vocal range.

‘Ofa along with the cast of Hot Brown Honey won 2017 Helpmann Awards - Best Cabaret Performer. Hot Brown Honey accolades over the past 2 years are as follows:

2018 Nominated for a UK Total Theatre Award - Best Touring Production.

Johnny Nandez lives and breathes music. He is a Bandleader, Composer, Arranger, Songwriter and Educator. A multi-instrumentalist, Johnny Nandez is the Musical Director, Bassist and Producer of Odette Mercy and her Soul Atomics. He has grown within, and given directly to, the local music scene as a key contributor to Funk Club as the MD of the Funk Club House Band for 15 years and currently is the MD of the Kalamunda Youth Swing Band going on 9 years now.

'Ofa has worked with many different musicians from varying genres. From Abbe May, Katy Steele, Mathas, Silvertongue, Timothy Nelson and the Infidels. With roots in the tradition of soul and funk music and gifted with a voice of tremendous proportions (with artistic breadth to match), she is a creator to be reckoned with.
