Lineage Ritual Dance Theatre explores the heroine’s journey of ‘becoming’. This evocative work invites audiences into a world of ancestral remembrance and feminine liberation. Lineage is a visceral exploration of women’s rites of passage and the rewilding of our primal origins in a contemporary landscape. It honors the wisdom passed through generations—held in bloodlines and mirrored by the ancient intelligence of plants and animals.

Calling us to witness the unspoken stories passed down through maternal lines, Lineage offers space to reflect on the legacy we choose to steward forward. Shakti Temple welcomes you to a living ceremony of remembrance.

About Shakti Temple

Shakti Temple is a ritual dance and feminine arts school based in Fremantle and Margaret River. Our contemporary style blends tribal fusion, contemporary dance and psychedelic motifs.

Through movement as devotion, we embody ancestral remembrance and the lived experience of the modern womban. Our mission is to reclaim our sacred 'shakti' within and inspire generations to come.

Lineage is directed and choreographed by Asha Bygraves, founder of Shakti Temple, in collaboration with Serpent of Fire (costuming and choreography), with additional choreography by Rhi Wilding and costumes by Gypsy Goddess Creations (Margarita Leon). The production also features a solo piece from performer, Mikaela Shwenson.
