King of the Underground is an annual Drag King pageant competition held in Western Australia, proudly produced by Cherry Bomb and dedicated to championing Drag King excellence in all its forms.  Now in its fifth year, the event returns on Saturday 6th June at Connections Nightclub, continuing its legacy as a cornerstone of Boorloo’s drag landscape by platforming masc drag artists and gender-diverse performers to showcase the full spectrum of king artistry.

Kings will go head-to-head across two dynamic categories. One competitor may embody classic, suited confidence while another builds an an absolute camp classic. The crown has gone to pumpkin realness, trash goblin chaos, rat king glamour and garlic bread fantasy, each iconic in their own right.
