Boorloo/Perth-based alt-pop act Bad Weather, influenced by the likes of The 1975, M83, James Ivy, and 80s icons Prince, Michael Jackson and Talking Heads, has been blending indie-emo vocals with 80s synth and guitar motifs for the past 3 years, much to the delight of their loyal fans. Showing up to a gig in Bad Weather’s home town of Perth means witnessing the beaming faces in the front row, belting out their lyrics, aware of every cymbal crash and drum fill. Bad Weather have worked with studio engineers and producers Mark McEwen & Brody Simpson of Underground Recording Studio (Roger Waters, Karnivool, Drapht) on their most recent EP, and Michael Bono (Avril Lavigne, Yung Blud, Blink 182) on all releases before that. Bad Weather’s next single, Lilac, is due for release in August 2023.
