Tal Cohen Qrtet

Pianist Tal Cohen makes a welcome return to the Perth International Jazz Festival as his star continues to rise globally.

For this performance, the Tal Cohen Qrtet presents a new set of music influenced by Cohen’s childhood growing up in Israel before starting his travels around the world.

Expect infectious grooves meeting traditional Israeli folk music and traditional jazz meeting traditional Klezmer music. Rounding out the quartet is the cream of Perth’s jazz scene, Jamie Oehlers (tenor saxophone), Karl Florisson (bass) and Ben Vanderwal (drums).

Don’t miss this chance to see this unique talent on stage in this intimate setting.

"The Tal Cohen Qrtet manages to combine complex, modern jazz concepts with graceful phrasing, thoughtful development and honest expression. The original ideas, high level of communication and spontaneity of the group is a breath of fresh air and proof that jazz has a bright future” – David Manson, Director of EMIT & the St. Petersburg Jazz Festival
